Sanitary welding

The sanitary welder the valley’s dairy inspectors know.

Inside a milk line, a brewhouse or a wine tank, the weld is a surface the product touches on every run. One pit, skip or unpurged root is a place bacteria can live through a clean-in-place cycle, and the inspector who finds it can fail the line and dump the tank. That is why sanitary welding is tested separately and why few welders take the test. Caleb did, and passed.

Argon back-purged, full-penetration TIG on 304 and 316L stainless, built to 3-A and AWS D18.1 acceptance criteria and left unpolished so your inspector can scope it. Dairies today, with room on the calendar for the breweries, wineries and distilleries of the Willamette Valley.

What we do

If it is metal and it is broken, bent or not built yet, text us.

Most calls are one of these four. The rest is the “can you weld this?” that keeps a one-man shop interesting, and the answer is almost always yes.

Mobile and emergency

Mobile welding

The rig comes to the farm, the plant, the job site or the driveway. Equipment down at 5 a.m., a gate hanging off its hinge, a trailer that has to roll tomorrow. After-hours and emergency calls at an after-hours rate, and a straight answer on the phone about whether it can be fixed where it sits.

Farm and equipment

Farm repair

Headlocks, feed barriers, gates and panels, hay and tillage equipment, hitches, buckets and the thing that broke in the middle of harvest. Caleb grew up on a farm and fixes it like it is his own, then gets out of your way.

Metal fabrication

Trailers, truck beds and service bodies, gates and railings, frames, stands, brackets and aluminum boxes. Steel, stainless or aluminum, MIG or TIG, fit up on a fixture table so it comes out square and stays that way. Bring a sketch, a photo or the broken original.

Gates, rails and the odd job

Driveway gates, garden gates, handrails, fireboxes, furniture, the broken thing in the garage. Yes, that too. No job is too small to text a photo about, and most small repairs are done the same week.

Custom welding
Three metals, one shop

Steel, stainless and aluminum. MIG and TIG.

Most welders pick a lane. Caleb runs all three because the valley’s farms, plants and driveways do not care which one is convenient.

Steel

Structural and mild steel for gates, trailers, frames, equipment repair and anything that has to carry a load. MIG for production, TIG where it shows.

Stainless

Sanitary tube and fittings for dairies and beverage plants, plus food-grade equipment, tanks, carts and handrails. TIG, back-purged where product touches it.

Aluminum

Boat hulls and transoms, truck service bodies, tool boxes, ramps, frames and the cracked casting nobody else will touch. TIG for the clean work, MIG for the big stuff.

Sanitary stainless work has its own page, and the three galleries are sorted by job type.

How it works

Three steps. The first one takes a minute.

Caleb is usually under a hood, so a text with a photo gets answered faster than a voicemail.

01

Text a photo

Send a picture of what broke or a sketch of what you want, with a rough size and where it is. The form on this page goes straight to Caleb’s phone.

02

Caleb calls you back

Not a call center. He tells you whether it is a shop job or a mobile job, what metal and process it needs, and roughly what it will take.

03

Quote, schedule, done

A written quote you sign on your phone. Fabrication jobs that need material take a deposit up front, repairs usually do not. Then he shows up when he said he would.

Something down right now?

Call instead of texting. After-hours and emergency calls are available at an after-hours rate, and a dairy that cannot ship milk or a trailer that has to leave in the morning is exactly what that is for.
